How We Planned Our Dream Destination Wedding in Slovenia: A British Couple’s Story

slovenia wedding

If you’re reading this, you might be in the middle of wedding planning chaos or just dreaming of a magical destination wedding. Either way, welcome to our little British Couple Story! We’re here to tell you about how we, a British couple, ended up getting married in the beautiful country of Slovenia, and how it turned out to be the most perfect decision we could have made.

Let’s rewind a bit. When we first got engaged, we were like most couples—excited, giddy, and then… completely overwhelmed! The questions started pouring in: Where will the wedding be? Who do we invite? How do we make it unique? Our British Couple Story wasn’t going to follow the traditional path. We didn’t want a typical British wedding (though they’re beautiful, of course). We wanted something that felt more… us. A wedding that would be both intimate and adventurous. That’s when our British Couple Story took a turn, and the idea of a destination wedding came up. After exploring options, our British Couple Story found its perfect setting in Slovenia.

Why Slovenia?

Now, you might wonder—Why Slovenia? Honestly, Slovenia wasn’t even on our radar at first! We’d heard about Tuscany, the Greek islands, maybe even Croatia. But one evening, while scrolling through Pinterest (my best friend during this whole process), we stumbled across a photo of Lake Bled. And oh my goodness—it was breathtaking. The more we looked into Slovenia, the more it felt like this hidden gem of Europe. Lush mountains, sparkling lakes, castles on cliffs, vineyards… it had it all. And the best part? It wasn’t overly commercialized, making it perfect for the intimate wedding we had in mind.

We wanted a place where nature would take center stage, where we wouldn’t need extravagant decorations because the backdrop itself was enough. And Slovenia? Well, it ticked every box.

Finding Our Dream Venue

Once we had Slovenia in our sights, the next step was finding the right venue. We were spoiled for choice! We initially fell in love with Lake Bled, especially the idea of getting married on Bled Island (the only island in Slovenia). Imagine arriving at your wedding by boat, with a medieval church standing tall on the island—fairytale vibes, right?

But, as much as we loved Lake Bled, we eventually chose a vineyard in the Goriška Brda region, often referred to as the “Tuscany of Slovenia”. We couldn’t resist the rolling hills, the views stretching into Italy, and the idea of saying our vows surrounded by vineyards. The venue had this rustic charm with an elegant touch. We immediately knew it was the one.

Navigating the Planning

Planning a wedding in a different country can feel daunting, but honestly, it was easier than we expected. Slovenia is quite organized when it comes to weddings, and we found a fantastic local planner who was a lifesaver. She guided us through everything—venue details, legal requirements, accommodation for our guests, and even suggested local vendors.

One thing that really helped us was working with vendors who understood our vision. We wanted a wedding that was personal and reflective of us. We didn’t want the cookie-cutter wedding photos and videos, so we connected with Films and Feels. They are famous for their untraditional wedding imagery that resonates with modern and nostalgic lovers. Additionally, the are one of the most loved destination wedding videographers in Slovenia.

And their philosophy? As Harsh and Nina, founders of Films and Feels, beautifully put it, “Your wedding day isn’t just about the perfect moments; it’s about the imperfect ones too—the laughter, the tears, the wind in your hair, the spontaneous dances. That’s where the magic is.”

That quote really stuck with us, and it became a guiding principle for the day. We wanted a wedding that felt real and raw, capturing every emotion, not just the posed perfection.

Legal Stuff (Not As Scary As You Think)

One thing that initially worried us was the legal side of getting married abroad. We had to prepare a few documents beforehand (birth certificates, passports, etc.), but our planner walked us through everything. Slovenia’s requirements are pretty straightforward for EU citizens, and we didn’t encounter any hiccups.

Tip: Make sure to double-check the legalities early on!

The Day Itself

Now for the fun part—our actual wedding day!

It was everything we hoped for and more. The weather was perfect (thank you, Slovenian sunshine!), and the vineyard setting was straight out of a dream. We opted for an outdoor ceremony in the early evening, just as the sun started to dip. The golden light streaming through the vines was magical.

Our ceremony was small—just close friends and family, about 40 people in total. The intimacy was exactly what we wanted. After the vows, we had a relaxed dinner under the stars, with long tables set up in the vineyard. Local Slovenian wine flowed freely (some of the best we’ve ever tasted), and the food—oh, the food—was incredible! We had a farm-to-table feast featuring local ingredients, and our guests are still talking about it months later.

The rest of the evening was filled with laughter, dancing, and, of course, the imperfect moments we now cherish so much. There was a slight breeze that kept blowing out the candles, our friend’s toast got hilariously off-topic, and at one point, we all kicked off our shoes and danced barefoot in the grass. It was perfect in every way.

What We Learnt

If there’s one thing we’ve learned from planning a destination wedding, it’s this: Don’t stress the small stuff. Seriously. There were moments when I found myself obsessing over tiny details that, in the end, didn’t matter at all. What matters most is the experience and being surrounded by the people you love.

Also, trust your vendors. We were lucky to have such an incredible team, and we gave them the creative freedom to do what they do best. That trust paid off, especially with our photographers and videographers. We didn’t ask for a million posed shots. We wanted the real deal—candid moments that captured the essence of the day.

Would We Do It Again?

british couple

Absolutely, 100%. Slovenia was the perfect backdrop for our love story, and we can’t recommend it enough. If you’re considering a destination wedding, especially if you want something a little off the beaten path, Slovenia is an absolute dream. It’s beautiful, affordable compared to many other European countries, and the people are so welcoming.

So, if you’re in the midst of wedding planning madness, take a deep breath. You’ve got this! And if you’re dreaming of a destination wedding that’s unique, full of natural beauty, and a bit adventurous, maybe Slovenia will call to you too.

Wishing you all the best on your wedding journey, wherever it may take you!

Benefits of Starting a Taxi Business in 2023

Benefits of Starting a Taxi Business in 2022

There’s nothing like catching a taxi when in a busy city. It’s a better alternative than taking a bus or driving everywhere. In these days of ride-sharing, getting into the taxi business can be a smart move. Below are some “Benefits of Taxi Business”. Starting With a Single Taxi

Of course, it’s tougher to compete with the big boys when you have just a single taxi. You might consider looking at Lamborghini Gallardo lease specials, but it’s better to invest in a cab to help you start a profitable business.

You can begin building a brand and understand what you have to offer in this industry. It helps you know your client base and how to move forward. You want to set up the foundation before you expand into a franchise.

Pacing yourself gives you more control to help you keep tabs on everything. Also, you won’t feel overwhelmed taking care of multiple cabs when you don’t have the experience to handle that inventory.

Another benefit of getting into the taxi business is using an app. It’ll help you attract more passengers through technology. You can also use the barcode option on roll-up banners to redirect users to your app and keep it in different places.  You can hire your favorite drivers that work well with various customers.

Also, people can adopt a cashless system. It’ll keep people safe because they can pay electronically through their smart devices. Additionally, drivers won’t have to worry about cash on deck.

It’ll display the driver details on the app to keep people comfortable by knowing who will pick them up. You can do a rating system for your best drivers to help them gain more clientele.

Not to mention, you can customer and driver feedback. You might have a driver with low ratings because the customer felt uncomfortable with the ride or they didn’t meet at the precise location. Likewise, the customer might have displayed unruly behavior.

This information can be used to help you improve the customer and driver experience.

Able to Build a Network

Able to Build a Network

Another reason to start a taxi business is that it gives you access to a network outside of driving. You never know if you can promote a technology company that suits your brand and help you out monetarily.

For example, you might have a monitor in the back seat that allows users to sign up for free groceries or get a deal for cheaper airline tickets. It would work well because people need rides to airports and get food for the month.

If you do the driving yourself, you can talk to your passenger. At the least, you can earn some extra income.

Take advantage of different avenues to help you diversify your business.

How Can You Travel the World at the Lowest Price in a Taxi?

How Can You Travel the World at the Lowest Price in a Taxi?

Traveling is a fun experience, but it can be a hassle sometimes. You might not have a car to take you to the local spots. It’s an alternative idea to have a taxi to help you go to different destinations. Here are some ways to help you get a cheaper taxi for your travel needs.

Compare Cab Prices Before Selecting the Right One

ompare Cab Prices Before Selecting the Right One

Think of selecting the ideal cab service. For instance, you’d want the best car stereo installation for your vehicle. You might be near a taxi stand with a constant flow of drivers. You can ask a few of them about their rates for taking you to the desired location.

See if you can get a lower price to help you save money. Compare and see, in case some are not in a ballpark range, make a note of it to avoid those cabs in the future.

Use Licensed Services

licensed cab

While it might seem cheaper to use something unlicensed, it’s better to go with a certified car service. You never know where you’re in a sticky situation where you could get robbed, or the driver won’t let you out until you pay a premium fee.

If you run into trouble using a licensed cab, you can always report them to a higher authority. It’s wise to use the cab service at your hotel. It’ll be easier to catch a taxi, and they might even have a discount rate for people that stay at the building.

Additionally, someone at the front desk may give you information on the best taxis to take into the city. You want reliable and safe services that can make traveling much more enjoyable.

Pick Ridesharing Services That Can Go to The Airport

Pick Ridesharing Services That Can Go to The Airport

Another thing that can help you travel for a reasonable price is a ride-share service. Whether it’s Uber or Lyft, pick something that can go back and forth to an airport. You might be able to land discounts around specific holidays or through a loyalty package.

Also, you can ask directly via social media if ride-sharing services are available at the airport. It’ll save you time and money.

Additionally, you can plan your trip better if you need to scheduled things for work or leisure. You don’t need cash because the bill goes directly to your credit card. Also, it’s good to have a ride-sharing app to help you monitor any places close to your destination if you want to move around a bit.

Keep Some Small Bills

Keep Some Small Bills

Some taxis only take cash, so it’s better to have small bills with you. You don’t want to give all your spare money to the cab.

Also, be cautious when paying to ensure you don’t overpay. Take a few deep breaths and count your money before giving it to the driver. Also, you don’t want to step out in traffic without gauging what’s going on around you. When you have extra pocket money, it helps you pace yourself and keep an eye on your cash before paying the driver.

Share a Taxi With a Friend

Share a Taxi With a Friend

If you’re going on a trip, you can always take a friend with you. You can split the fare down, and it helps you feel safer when traveling.

Your friend can look at the surroundings, and you can follow suit. It feels better to do this because you both will stick with a budget, and it’ll help save money on your travel fees. Also, you may avoid any scams by having a backup with you in case something goes wrong.

Consider traveling with someone you trust to help you avoid sticky situations.

Know a Price Estimate

Know a Price Estimate

It’s better to check rates before you catch a cab. Also, do check if the meter is running. Don’t get into a vehicle if you see the meter broken because that may be a scam.

You might get charged an inflated rate by the time you get to your destination. If the driver argues about the price or the meter can’t be fixed, go with another cab. It’s better to be safe than sorry.

If there’s traffic, you might have to take an alternative route. However, you should plan out what it would cost if things take a bit longer.

Choose a reliable taxi to help you make traveling safe, convenient, and affordable.

Also, it’s not a bad idea to do more podcasts because that’s another opportunity to promote your brand. You can have the written content on a website and put a description that the search engine can crawl and rank.

Focus On Your Audience

Focus On Your Audience

Here’s a tactic that never goes out of style (online or offline). To lead a successful brand, you need to invest in your audience. Understand what they want. When you consistently give your audience value, it helps build a loyal following.

The loyal following is the one that will buy multiple products from you and even promote you for free because they like what you have to offer. You can’t purchase that type of commitment. Also, experiment with different products and services to help you reach out to other demographics.

This strategy applies to any form of business, from digital to brick-and-mortar.

Lynsey Blackburn, the owner of Response Bio Clean was quoted saying, “Digital marketing has played a crucial role in the growth of my business, attracting new leads and expanding our reach. It has proven to be an invaluable tool in promoting our brand and driving success in today’s competitive market.”

Use Tools to Help Drive Sales

Use Tools to Help Drive Sales

Look for tools to boon your sales and traffic. Think of the best ways to help you develop a quality digital campaign for long-lasting results. You can also opt for website management services from top agencies to see an improvement in sales and traffic.

You can use a tool like Mailchimp if you have a more traditional audience. Some people still like to follow through with emails. It’s a marketing system that can help you create landing pages to see who opens and engages with your emails.

Hootsuite helps you with your social media campaigns. You can see who replies to your posts on your Twitter. It’s a channel to help you schedule your tweets to save time.

Using more automated tools can make it easier to schedule campaigns and get better analytics.

Develop a Mobile Marketing Strategy

Develop a Mobile Marketing Strategy

You can’t forget about your mobile marketing. Some people don’t use a laptop or desktop to make purchases. Also, they might prefer using a smartphone or tablet to help them when they travel or do work for their career.

You want to cater to this audience and make a mobile-optimized site to help you get the most out of this target. Think about what graphics you need and the ones to omit to keep a top-notch user experience. The small details matter to help get a higher retention rate and better call-to-action.

Additionally, you can get an edge up on your competitors who don’t have a mobile presence. Use this to expose the gaps between your small brand and a big-time business.

Create More Video Content Campaigns

Create More Video Content Campaigns

Video content helps you get more eyes on your posts. Whether you use an IG live feature to help you speak directly to your audience or TikTok to catch a younger demographic, it helps you evolve into the modern age.

People enjoy watching videos because it appeals more to their senses. Also, it’s easier to digest than reading paragraphs of text. Not to mention, more social media algorithms understand how this can affect brand awareness.

Social networks are starting to prioritize people who have witty video content and rank them higher on their platforms. People enjoy the direct feedback, behind-the-scenes look, and other things that make you unique.

Use visuals and movement to help you reach a global audience.

Influencer Marketing

Influencer Marketing

Collaboration has become an integral part of digital marketing. If you’re a brand with an incredible product, reach out to an influencer in your niche. They have an audience that can help beef up your legitimacy.

You can work out a deal to do a profit share incentive for them promoting your product. People trust influencers because they see them as someone to trust. The honesty factor demonstrates your concern for people.

Speak to an influencer you like that would be great to build a long-term business relationship for both sides to prosper.

Create a digital marketing campaign to help your business rise in 2022.

Happy Customers, Happy Us!

happy vlients, happy us!

You must have heard about various benefits of using airport taxi services by the brands themselves, but I would like to share my views on being a customer. I booked a United Airport transfer taxi to drop at Knightsbridge estate located at Mayfair London. It’s quite a long journey by car, but I would love to tell you, it was one of the best journeys I had.

There are now quite a few taxi companies in the UK offering these airport taxi services. All United Cars airport taxi services offered many advantages.

Their airport taxi was head over heels to serve. They provided a super prompt service.

With this professional driver driving for me, I relaxed in the back seat during the trip, enjoying the ride. It was a delightful and comfy expedition. I wasn’t bothered with checking the routes to get to my destination.

The most important aspect for me was the service was cost-efficient. The ride was quite safe and superior, and preferably it would be a great choice for those new to some area.

Additionally, traveling in a group is even more economical since you will pay the same amount as you would if you traveled alone.

Bag Issue

When I landed at the airport, my luggage was an issue. I would love to appreciate their flexibility and patience. They are flexible enough in terms of rates, pickup and drop-off areas, and timing. Their main concern is the client’s satisfaction.

They provided exceptional service. They had excellent driving skills and were well-behaved as well.

To ensure my safe journey, he executed some exceptional pre-driving preparations.

“All United Cars” is simply the best airport transport car service, and I recommend everyone I know to hire them.

Another Happy Customer Review

“I recently used a taxi company to travel to Brighton for a photo shoot at a local studio space – The Rainbow Studio. The booking process was quick and easy, and the driver was prompt and courteous. The car was clean and comfortable, and the journey was smooth. The driver was also very knowledgeable about the area and was able to give me some great recommendations for places to eat and visit while I was in Brighton. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would definitely use the company again.”
